The Voxel Lab is open to anyone in the MIT community who is interested in working on music & arts related projects.

To become a Voxel member at any level, you must first receive an orientation to the space which covers community practices, safety, and emergency preparedness. Orientations are provided by Voxel Staff; see the Voxel Calendar for orientation times.

The three levels of Voxel Membership

Whether you want to pop in the lab for a few hours once or are interested in helping to maintain it, we welcome your interest and participation!

Member

After completing the orientation, access is granted to utilize the lab’s resources during the hours of 12pm-8pm.

Check the lab calendar for open hours and when the lab is staffed.

Mentor

Utilize the lab’s resources unsupervised daily between 8am and 11pm.

Mentors contribute to the development of the lab by staffing the lab for one hour/week, being available to support voxel Members, and/or leading trainings, workshops, or other Voxel-related events.

Staff/Core Members

As a community leader, Core Members enjoy unsupervised 24/7 access to the lab.

Drive the success of the lab by leading orientations, trainings, workshops, or other Voxel-related events.
